Out of dust.

June 8, 2012

I woke up this morning and went straight to a run (which was very pathetic, trust me) but it was so beautiful outside! It’s the most perfect day right now! High 60s, low 70s all day and today God just allowed me to really see all the beauty that he has created! It’s amazing!

This flower for example. God created this gorgeous creature out of some dirt, water, and a little seed. God has this amazing ability to be able to “make beautiful things out of dust” as is said in the song Beautiful Things by Gungor. So many times we forget this. We ask God to do this or that and are so angry and frustrated when we don’t get those things. But look at what God has done for us! God really does have an ultimate plan for us and knows what is best for us. If God can create this flower out of three simple ingredients, well then He can do anything! We just have to trust that! So today, go out into the garden or go visit one and appreciate the beauty that God has created.

How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son. – Ephesians 1:3-6 (msg)

Love,

Abby
